• NEC Distribution Group has ear-marked four market sectors with high growth potential and appointed new business managers to oversee its thrust into each sector.
The drinks and tobacco market will be the responsibility of Bernard Mason, who joins the Group after eight years at
National Carriers Parcels.
John Holt will take responsibility for imported goods. For the past two years he has worked for Pickfords Removals but prior to that he was European freighting manager for Sally Line.
In the domestic appliance and brown goods sector Brian Chivers will be responsible for developing NEC business. He joins from Independent Express, where he was distribution development manager.
Alan Mannion, formerly sales manager with Frigoscandia, will take responsibility for the grocery and cash and carry sectors.
NEC plans to appoint more business development managers to attack other market sectors in future.
