Wool Producers of Wales has been able to reduce its vehicle excise duty bill as well as-increasing its payloads.
The change from a 16-tonner to a Seddon Atkinson 301 6x4 plated at 22.6 tonnes GVW.has reduced WPW's VEI) bill by £130. The 301 six-wheeler also has a redesigned rubber suspension balance beam which has allowed the downplating of the rear bogie from 18,000kg to 16.500kg.
The 157kW (211hp) Curnmins-powered 301 will cover between 60-70,000km per year carrying wool clippings and farming supplies.
