A NEW steering power rack and sector gear has been announced by Burman and Sons Ltd. The development is claimed to give 50 per cent increased capacity over comparable units for an increase in size of 25 per cent. The unit will cater for up to 9 tons total axle weight or 18 tons with rams.
Called the SPAS 40,000, the gear has also been designed for use in conjunction with accumulators in order to satisfy EEC requirements.
