Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A NEW Scania, the 111, was introduced at Earls Court last week to replace the Scania 110. A new version of the company's 11-litre engine, the Dll and DS11, is the main change in the vehicle and the reason for the type designation being changed from 110 to 111.

Power output of the turbocharged DS11 is increased from I 86.5kW (250 bhp) to 206 kW (276 bhp) to BS AU 141a while torque goes up from 980.4Nm (7811b ft) to 1,090Nm (804 lb ft).

Modifications in the design of the inlet and exhaust manifolds, ports and valves and, in the case of the DS11 to the turbocharger, are responsible for the increases in output. Scania claims that fuel consumption is reduced by about five per cent. In addition to the Modifications to increase the power output, several other changes have been made. For example, water capacity has been increased while the oil system now includes a larger pump. Several changes have also been made to increase strength. The little ends are now wedge shaped, tapering towards the top, so that piston pressure is taken up by a much larger area on the gudgeon pin. Power output can be further increased if required without the need for further structural changes. A thermostatically engaged engine fan is now available as an optional extra.

At the same time as announcing the new engine Scania has extended its warranty scheme from six months to 12 months unlimited mileage for Scania made parts and components.
