CONDIT1ONS imposed by Cumberland County Council on business premises used by a haulier and garage proprietor were the subject of an appeal at Millorn, last week. Mr. Edward Fye, Millom, claimed that the restrictions were unreasonable.

For the county council, Mr. J. B. Griggs said that Mr. Fye was allowed to use petrol stored at his garage for his own vehicles, and for vehicles he serviced. He was barred from selling fuel to the public.

Mr. Fye told the Ministry of Housing inspector (Mr. D. Senior) that he bought thc garage in 1955 and serviced the lorries of other hauliers as well as his own vehicles. The garage was well sited for safety.

After closing the inquiry, Mr. Senior visited the premises.
