PETER COOK, the man behind collapsed haulage company Peter Cook Transport, has applied for a new 0-Licence to operate from the same Durham premises as his former firm.
The application for a standard national licence for five vehicles and 10 trailers in the name of Peter Cook Projects was made on 11 October, two months after Peter Cook Transport went into administration owing creditors a total of £1 .5m (CM20 October).
Peter Cook is listed as a director of Peter Cook Projects.
One former Peter Cook Trans port driver, who says he is owed a four-figure sum by the company but did not wish to beidentified, told CM that the application for a new licence came as ''a kick in the teeth" "I am really annoyed even more so now that he's applied for a new licence," he says. "I can't see me getting that money back. A lot of drivers worked very hard for him for a long time."
Peter Cook denies he's getting back into haulage but declines to be more specific. He adds: "My plans aren't crystalised yet. I will not be continuing in the business was in before" Peter Cook Transport traded from Belmont, County Durham.
