SHIPPING AND logistics group PD Ports is in talks that might lead to a takeover.lbe Middlesbroughbased group owns PD Logistics, which runs 150 trucks and 250 trailers operating mainly out of Billingham and Scunthorpe in the North-East. It also uses a large number of subcontractors for deliveries out of the Humber ports.
The approach is reported to value the group at £220m,withAustralian investment giant Macquarie thought to be a possible bidder.
Macquarie's interests include the M6 Toll road, and it has just bought ferry operator the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company.
