Kelly International onto a winner with Pall-Ex

joanna.bourkeldrbi.co.uk KENT FIRM KELLY International Transport says it has has won several new customers since joining Pall-Ex little over a month ago, at the same time as Pallets 2 Parcels (P2P) becomes the latest company to join the pallet network.

West Mailing-based Kelly International has been covering the ME postcode since early April picking up the patch that was originally handled by Croorne Gold Star Logistics, which went into administration on 7 April.

Martin Kelly. MD of Kelly International, which runs 17 HGVs,says:"We are close to the Channel ports and are located for optimum transit times to and from Europe. Customers seem more keen to capitalise on this since we joined Pall-Ex, and we have already won new business as a result."

Approximately 50 pallets are being handled daily by the firm, but Kelly expects this to rise to 100 before the end of the year.

Meanwhile. Stoke-on-Trent-based P2P has joined Pall-Ex from UK Pallets. However, it says it is still operating with the latter until its contract runs out. P2P is operating in the area previously managed by F Swain & Sons, which entered administration on 17 May (see CM 20 May).
