BRIG.-GEN. STR OSBORNE MANCE, K.B.E., Cit., C.M.G., D.S.O., has been elected president of the Institute of Transport, 1949-1950. He wilLassurne office on October 1, upon the retirement of Mr. David R. Lamb. Sir Osborne Mance is a foundation member of the Institute.
MR. FRANK PERKINS, chairman and managing director of F. Perkins, Ltd., left in the " Queen Elizabeth" last week for an extended tour of America and Canada. His itinerary includes New York, Detroit, Chicago, Toronto, Montreal, Ontario, Hamilton and Vancouver.
MR. G. N. DAFFERN has been appointed by the Road Transport Executive, divisional staff and welfare officer for the North-Western Division (Freight). Mr. Daffern was formerly with Courtaulds, Ltd. MR. R. W. KEE-rat, formerly managing director of R. Keetch and Son, Ltd., W. Clark (Nottingham), Ltd., and John Keetch. Ltd., has become district manager foe the Notts and Derby district of the Midland Division (Freight).

" ...C..ACEILAN, accountant in the Dunlop Cotton Mills, Rochdale, is to be chief accountant to Dunlop in Germany, arid MR. E. Wow, commercial accountant in Dunlop's Speke factory, will succeed Mr. McLachlan as accountant at Rochdale.
