Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

u;ith just 3,800km on the clock the 4000 Series Twin Splitter box and Rockwell drive axle were still tight. Fortunately the L10 350 Celect engine had been run in separately, having covered some 26,000km before OW test. The revised chassis layout incorporated a ZE steering box, new spring mounts and front tow pin while the cab's four-point coil-spring suspension also appeared for the first time. A Kenworth-styk steering wheel and redesigned column, adjusted by a simpler locking lever, combined with the new box to give more precise but lighter steering; the rerouted Cablecraft gear linkage gave the smoothest change we had ever experienced in a Foden. The cab suspension transformed ride and handling Lighter than most and with the kite motif reinstated on the front grille, the 4350 Celect chassis cab offered a body/payload allowance of 24.4 tonnes. Returning 8.16mPg at a good average speed it fell just short of Volvo's FH420 (which at the time was the only other 38-tonner to have broken the 8.0mpg barrier around CM's Scottish route). Cruise control came as part of the Celect engine management package. It worked well and helped to maintain good journey times at an even pace while the steady accelerator control reduced the fuel bill The Jake brake was noisy but cut

down on the number of service brake applications.

A one-Piece floor and added insulation cut down internal noise, aided by a new slim line air intake rising to roof height behind the cab. Changes to the dash improved ergonomics

The single bunk recessed in the area of the two seats was placed higher than before to make room for a lockable 9in-deep under

bunk locker running for two-thirds of its length. The level of the interior trim matched the quality of major competitors and we felt that the new Road Relay diagnostics display would help minimise downtime. Foden's parts prices were another strong point.
