More Slotted Angles SIX new designs of slotted angle have been introduced by Dexion Ltd., and with the existing design which will continue to be marketed, makes a range of seven designs now available from the concern.
Two of the designs are suitable for 0-25 in. bolts, the Dexion 100 and Dexion 125, both have equal sized flanges —1 in.—and whilst the 100 is 0-040 thick, the 125 is 0-064 in. thick. The other four new designs are for use with 0-3125 in. diameter bolts like the existing Dexion 225 angle. As will be seen from the illustration, these have varying slot and hole patterns and sizes.

Welding Rectifier ANEW welding rectifier has been introduced by the British Oxygen Co. This is the MNR 650 which has been designed primarily for manual welding although it can also be used for processes such as arc-air garaging, TIG welding and automatic welding applications requiring drooping volt/amp, characteristic d.c. supply. The unit• is rated (to NEMA) at 120/825 amp. current range, 500 amp. continuous, 650 amp. 60 per cent duty cycle and 65 volt open circuit.

Plug for Rootes Vehicles ANEW K.L.G. sparking plug has been introduced primarily for Routes vehicles. Type-named the FE70A, it supplements the FE75 and is said to be particularly applicable for use in vehicles where traffic congestion is a problem. The new plug has been adopted for a number of car models and the Commer Cob.

Alphabetical and territorial lists are given of wholesalers operating in all parts of the U.K.; proprietary names of more than 5.000 branded goeds are also lIsted.
As in previous years, the main interest for a commercial vehicle user is in the Buyers' Guide sections.

Liquid Extinguisher
THE Uni-Flash extinguisher just introduced by 1 Nu-Swift International Ltd. uses a new liquid consisting of 80 per cent 1; 1: I trichloroethane and 20 per cent ehlorobromomethane and is claimed to be very much less toxic than other chemicals used in these types of liquid extinguishers. The extinguisher is available in a quart size with controllable discharge (Model 4000) or total discharge (Model 4003).
Although mainly intenCed for use on fires involving light electrical equipment and wiring, the extinguisher can also be used successfully on inflammable liquid fires. Operational range is 6 ft. and the liquid is held under a pressure of 170 p.s.i. and expelled in a fine spray which is converted into flame-killing vapour on reaching the fire. When full the Uni-Flash extingu:sher weighs 9 lb.

Cheap Anti-theft Device
ARLY last year Auto Securities Ltd. introduced a complex vehicle security device called the Auto Lock. Now the concern has introduced a part of that system, calling it the Master Car Alarm, which provides part of the protection provided by the larger unit and is sold at an economical price. The device is externally key-operated: when engaged, an aural warning system is connected to the doors, bonnet and boot, and the ignition is immobilized. The external lock is usually installed on the offside rear-wing assembly—the owner's key alone unlocking the system. An attempt to break into a vehicle automatically sets off a continuous sounding of the horn.
