CARIBBEAN ORDERS FOR LEYLAND: A spring upsurge in business with several countries in the Caribbean is reported by both Leyland Motors Ltd. and Albion Motors Ltd., who are still finding new markets there for trucks and buses. Firsttime sales of Albion trucks have just been made in Dominica, Haiti and the Bahamas, whilst Leyland has taken its first repeat orders from Nicaragua. In the Dominican republic, 30-ft.-long Leyland Leopards with synchromesh gearbox and 3641.-long Leopard with four-speed, semi-automatic pneumo-cyclic gearbox have been handed over. All have bodywork by Marshall of Cambridge (Engineering) Ltd. The shorter bus seats 43 passengers and the longer one, 52. They will be operated fri the capital city of Santo Domingo.

YORKSHIRE TANKERS: ,Orders for 23 Mammoth Major eight-wheeled tankers have been placed with A.E.C. Ltd. by Smith and Robinson (Leeds) Ltd., part of the Hargreaves Group. Fitted with stainless steel tanks, they will operate throughout the U.K. from a base at Rothwell, Yorks.

C.K.D. MARSHALS: A further 12 A.E.C. Marshal 6 x 4 chassis have been ordered for South African operators. They will be shipped c.k.d. and assembled in Durban.

FOR WESEERN WELSH: The Western Welsh Omnibus Co. Ltd. last week ordered six .A.E.C. Reliance 470 coach chassis and three A.E.C. Renown double-decker bus chassis. The coaches will be fitted with luxury bodywork and used on extended tours.
