Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

MINE vehicles for use on logging in 1.1 Scandinavia are being adapted by Bromilow and Edwards, Ltd., Foundry Street, Bolton, to a contract of Scammell Lorries, Ltd. The machines are Dodge tractors with Scammell semitrailers 20-ft. long. Bromilow and Edwards, Ltd., is fitting special side tipping mechanism for their task.

This equipment is of 8-10 tons capacity. A power take-off from the gearbox drives a high-pressure oil pump connected by pipeline to the rams of the tipping gear, of which four units are fitted. The two rear units are of the triple-ram type and are carried in

a cradle mounted on the inside of the frame.

The forward units are triple-ram awe which 'provide the 'amount of clearance necessary above the tractor coupling mechanism. A. cut-off is incorporated in the hydraulic circuit so that the oil pressure may be relieved when an adequate angle of tip has been attained.

Three pairs of fabricated rolledsection cross-irons, comprising channelsection girders bolted back to back and separated by spacing pieces, are fixed below, the semi-trailer frame, the securing brackets being designed so that there is no shear stress on the bolts. The hinge supports are bolted on the ends of the doss-irons.

This framework is made of rolled section with cross-bearers to support the logs. Two longitudinal runners Seneath provide body support and there are beams to take the immediate thrust of the rams.
