MR. ROBERT CLAYTON, production manager of Leyland MotOrs, Ltd., has retired after 42 years' continuous service with the company, and, to •mark the occasion, he was the guest of honour, last week, at a dinner given by his colleagues. Mr. A. A. Liarclet, managing director, presided, and he paid tribute to the long and loyal service which Mr. Clayton had given to the company; these sentiments were supported by Mr. H. Spurrier, general manager, and other members of the stal. M. D. G. NORTHAM has taken up the post of sales manager to 4. W. Chapman, Ltd., of Ranelagh Gardens, Hurlingham,. the weil-known maker of adjustable seats and seat fittings. He was Deputy Assistant Director of Mechanization (R.A.F.) and obtained. his release froni the Ministry of Supply, where he had been since January, 1941, previous to which he was dealing with road transport for the R.A.F.

MR. J. S. IRVING is retiring from executive business activities and is, Consequently, relinquishing his position as technical director of Girling, Ltd. He will, however, rernain on the board of that company and act in an advisory capacity. He hopes now to have the leisure to devote to his several hobbies, which he has had to neglect during the past six strenuous years, also to be able to renew many personal contacts which suffered through war-time conditions.

MAJOR M. BRECHIN, A M.1. A. E. , has now been released from military service and is takihg up his former duties with Fodens, lad, as representative for Scotland, excluding the Southern Counties, He has seen over fie 'and a half years' service in the R.A.O.C. (Engineering), and latterly with R.E.M.E., with which corps be held the appointment of Deputy Assistant Director of Mechanical Engineering at a Command H.Q.
