Scottish Association Appointments

AT the first directors' meeting, held after the annual general meeting of the Scottish Carriers and Haulage Contractors Association, Mr. Andrew Duncan was appointed chairman. His knowledge of the transport industry and able leadership will be welcomed at the present stage. Mr. James Ferguson is the vice-chairman of the Association.

Association Protects Milk Hauliers in Lanark

Trisk that many hauliers actively engaged on milk haulage in Lanark would lose much of that traffic, has been obviated by the prompt action of the Scottish Carriers and Ilaulage Contractors' Association. A movement had started which would have risulted in small groups of farmers carrying milk for hire or reward in vehicles authorized only under an agricultural licence. The scheme was strongly opposed by the Association and the hauliers who formerly carried the traffic were reinstalled.
