THE OFFICE OF FAIR Trading (OFT) is appealing for further information from the industry as part of its investigation into suspected price-ixing activity by truck manufacturers (CM 23 September).

As part of its informant reward programme into suspected cartel activity, the OFT is offering up to £100,000 for information relating to the investigation that was launched with a raid at the ofices of Mercedes-Benz in September 2010.

The OFT says it is currently in the process of collecting further material and analysing the material already in its possession from forensic IT investigations, following the request for information from all major truck manufacturers.

“Following this, we have reason to believe that there are people in the industry who have information that may assist the investigation,” a spokesman says.

The OFT says it would be interested to hear from any person who may have information relating to contact between individuals working for competing CV manufacturers.

● Anyone with information can call the cartels hotline on 0800 0851664 or email cartelshotline@oft. gsi.gov.uk. Calls and emails will be treated in the strictest conidence.
