ATDynamics has already managed to convince one of the US’s leading transport companies of TrailerTail’s virtues. Renowned for its tight control of costs, Mesilla Valley Transportation of Las Cruces, New Mexico is having Model 2011 fitted to every one of its 3,500 trailers.
ATDynamics calculates that the move will cut Mesilla Valley’s annual diesel consumption by more than 3.7m litres and its yearly CO2 emissions by approximately 10m kg. Around a dozen other fleets have TrailerTail on trial with at least 4,000 to 5,000 likely to be in service by the end of 2011, according to the manufacturer’s projections. It plans to produce some 1,600 examples during the first quarter of 2011.
