Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AFTER WATCHING the Channel 5 show Eddie Stobart: Trucks, Trailers and Tinsel I feel the need to point out an inaccuracy. The Tesco DC is most deinitely not in Hull, it is in Goole. I should know. I live in Goole. There were some silly mistakes in the programme, but there was no need for Goole to constantly be labelled as Hull.

We are nearer to other major towns and cities, so why not use them to make the description of Goole easier? Quite frankly, most people in Goole that I know are tired of constant references to Hull. It is approximately 35 miles away – York and Doncaster are approximately 24 miles away. I have clocked these distances as I have regularly travelled to them all. Why can our small, but still relevant town, never be referred to in its own right? Natasha Goole

Ed’s note: CM strives for geographical accuracy and is happy to bring this discrepancy to our readers’ attention.
