This interview was conducted before the SMMT released figures for truck registrations to the end of 2010. Volvo fared well; in several sectors its 32-tonne-plus tractors business saw registrations rise by 18.4% to 2,005 – placing it fourth in a tight race for first, just 347 units behind market leader Mercedes-Benz. In the three-axle tractor market, Volvo saw registrations rise 26.7% year-on-year to 1,796 units, ranking it second behind Scania.
