The construction industry is a major consumer of road transport and as this sector continues to expand so does the teed for commercial vehicles to move plant, naterials and, of course, people!The Commer.ial Motor truckzone, now in its fourth year, is in integral part of SED, the national event for he construction industry, and from 17-19 May here's no better place to see a wide range of rucks, trailers, vans,4x4s and bodies.All the naj or manufacturers will be there, showing off heir latest products.

Iveco is a regular xhibitor in the truckzone. -his year the company 'ill have its new Trakker range of 6x4 and 8x4 chassis on display, as well as the new high-power range of Daily vans. To celebrate its 30 years in the business, Iveco is promising a big presence in the truckzone in 2005.

MAN-ERF made its truckzone debut last year and will be back to launch a lightweight range of trucks —we'd expect to see a tipper version or two of the new model on display. Look out for the TGA multi-wheeler line-up too. It's been slow to make an impact in the UK since its launch a couple of years ago but the TGA has all the credentials to make a bold bid in the muckaway sector.

Renault Trucks had a very successful SED show in 2004 and was one of the first to book its slot for 2005.The Kerax tipper range has made an impact during 2004 with the arrival of a lightweight version.The new Kerax Highway range has now been joined by a Kerax double-drive tractor, underlining Renault UK's decision to concentrate on the construction market. Renault UK, also returns to the truckzone this year with its full van range: the Clio, Kangoo,Traffic and New Master, including platform-cabs and chassis/double-cabs.And watch out for the new Kangoo crew-van 4x4.

Scania completes the line-up of truck manufacturers which have already booked space in the truckzone. The new Scania R Series has been voted International Truck of the Year 2005;it has now been joined by the P Series in the all-new Scania line-up. We expect tipper versions of both models to be represented on the Swedish truck builder's stand this year.

Ford continues to lead the UK van sector and remains a major player in the plant and construction sector.As you'd expect, the market leader will be back at the UK's premier event for the construction sector — it will be showing five key vehicles from the Ford CV range.They will include models from Ford's versatile range ofTransits and examples of ready-bodied 'one-stop' models, including tippers and dropsides,The powerful Ranger Thunder will be strutting its stuff in the demonstration area.

Vauxhall Motors will be exhibiting its versatile range of award-winning CVs. For 2005 Vauxhall is making some improvements to the Combo range. including a whole new engine line-up, new audio systems and much more.Two powerful common-rail diesels 1.3CDTi 16v and 1.7CDTi 16v are joined by the thrifty new 1.4i 16v Twinport petrol engine. Also on display will be the Vivaro and the Movano.

Tata made its truckzone debut last year; as CM went to press it had just confirmed its presence for this year's show. Imported by Phoenix, parent company of MG Rover.Tata is making steady headway in the UK pickup and 4x4 sector, continually evolving its product to meet the customer's needs.

Hard as nails

Moffett-Kooi wowed the crowds in the demo area last year with its versatile range of goanywhere truck-mounted forklifts. It returns to the truckzone in 2005 so come along to Tipper Live! to find out just how rugged these machines are.

HMI' Cranes is a truckzone newcomer and its display of truck-mounted cranes are sure to turn a few heads, particularly when they're put to the test in our live demonstration area.

1-IMF produces a wide range of loaders fror 0.5-72tm covering a wide range of tasks and applications from muckaway to moving hear, plant. Most loaders are available with a wide range of options in addition to the standard high specification. HMF is using the show to launch three new models of muckaway loaders: the 1244,1344 and the 1543.

Van racking specialist H Modul is another first-time exhibitor in the truckzone: the company manufactures and fits a whole rang of racking systems for vans.
