NEW COACHES FOR EWER'S: GOOD SEASON EXPECTED.

A NUMBER of 1933-model Leyland

Tiger 32-seater coaches, with sliding heads, is under construction for George Ewer and Co., Ltd., 55, Stamford Hill, London, N.16. The company anticipates that the vehicles will be an improvement on those that it has so far employed, although, at the present time, it claims to have one of the most up-todate and best-conditioned fleets.

The question of placing an order for further vehicles is under consideration. Two of the new vehicles will run on a regular service from London to B42 Paignton, via Bournemouth, one will run on the London-Yarmouth route, via Norwich, whilst the remainder will, in the early part of the season, be used on regular services to such places as Brighton, Margate, Hastings, Eastbourne, Portsmouth, etc. We understand that when the peak season arrives, these additional vehicles will work on the London-Paigntou and London-Yarmouth routes.

George Ewer and Co., Ltd., informs us that, despite the rigid restrictions under the Road Traffic Act, it hopes to experience a successful year. The existing services are giving satisfactory returns. SOUTHERN COMMISSIONERS' CONCESSION FARES INQUIRY.

THE Southern Traffic Commissioners held, on Tuesday last, at Ryde, Isle of Wkht, a fares inquiry, which, we understand, was on lines similar to those of the recent conference at Salisbury.

The object was to investigate conditions specially applicable to the Island. It appears that representations had been made to the Commissioners that there are certain circumstances which apply only to the Isle of Wight in connection with the need for concession tickets.
