Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE commercial-motor section of the Berlin Motor Show, to be held from February 11 to 23, will fill one of the two large exhibition halls reserved for the event and will include.20 stands for vehicles, besides many for components, engines, bodies and so forth. The German industry will be represented by 15 makers, whilst among the foreign exhibitors will be Swiss Saurer, Austrian Saurer and Tatra.

It is too early to say what technical developments are to be expected, but it is fairly certain that there will be about eight, if not more, makes of oil engine. Amongst the newcomers in this section will be the German Kiimpfer Motoren Co., and Michelmotor, the latter wishing to find concerns willing to take out licences to manufacture.

Many small carriers will be on view.

Outstandingly important tephnical developments are hardly to be expected and progress will probably be limited to refinements in details of design and in components. M.A.N. announces, for instance, an oil-engined express coach and lorry chassis with a rivetless frame. This maker will also introduce a new six-cylindered 70 b.h.p. oil engine.

Compression-ignition units of lower power than formerly, with outputs between 40 blip. and 70 b.h.p., are likely to be a feature of the German Show. Junkers and Krupp will show their range of three Junkers two-stroke--cycle oilers. Moreover, the Bussing-N.A.G. Co., will offer a range of three engines, for the new 45 b.h.p model will probably be ready for production by that time.

The Michel Co. will most probably show a 160 b.h.p. engine with four starshaped cylinders of the new type fully described in our issue dated November 18. Side by side with this engine, a 60 b.h.p. unit of the same type should draw great attention not only on the transport side, but also on the privateear side, for this small engine, which weighs only 63. lb. per b.h.p., is also essentially suitable for such cars.
