An £86 rate has been agreed in Sheffield, with £5 extra on all adult hgv grades, and 6.17 per cent on all other grades. Subsistence rises by 50p to £10. The deal is backdated to January 1.
North Wales drivers have rejected a 7.56 per cent increase in their top-weight basic, from £79 to £85, with subsistence increased from £9 to £9.75. The employers have said that this is their final offer.
By Monday, when balloting was due to close, an overwhelming number of Scottish drivers had accepted the £89 basic rate negotiated by the Transport and General Workers Union and Road Haulage Association.
