Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE Association of Public Passenger Transport have announced their award winners. Bus driver Anthony Booth, of Nottingham City Transport wins the APPT Award and Preston Transport clerical assistant Stephen Whittle wins the APPT Danum Award.

The winners are selected from the candidates for the Royal Society of Arts examinations who are also employees of members of the association. The awards will be presented by the association's president, Colin Worthington in Preston and Leicester next month.

At the National Bus Company two of their general managers have retired. Tom Skin ner and Len Waller have both celebrated nearly 50 years in the transport industry.

Mr Skinner, Eastern Counties general manager for the past four years began his career with Thomas Tilling in 1928.

Mr Waller's career started with Ribble Motor Services in 1930. Both retirements take effect on June 30.

Premier Travel has named four new directors and a new traffic manager. New directors are group secretary R. C. H. Dodkin; chief engineer M. J. Gifford; general manager of Premier Travel Agency R. L. Sargent; and Premier Airlines general manager B. V. Burnett.

New traffic manager is G. Bray who has also been liaising with local government transport officers and the company directors.

New director at Training Development Transport Ltd is Alan Biddle, 31. He will be responsible for the finance of the firm after his move from his present post of company secretary.

TDT is the training services arm of the Essex members of the RHA.

National Travel has strengthened its sales management team with the appointment of Ron Burgin as national Continental manager and Bill Woodward as creative sales manager.

Mr Burgin was operating manager (south) and general manager of Sheffield United Tours. Mr Woodward was area sales development manager for Greyhound World Travel.

W. E. Deane (Shipping) Ltd has made two new appointments. Brian Ellmore becomes executive manager of the transport TIR, warehouse and distribution, and Chris Copeland becomes personal assistant to the shipping director.

Mack International has named its new president as Raymond Reardon, 48, a corporate vice-president and Mack board member.

At Tate and Lyle Ian Gibson moves up to become Scottish area manager of Transport Engineering Service — Tate and LyIe's Mercedes-Benz truck dealership in Scotland.

We record with regret the deaths of T. F. Hussey and Hugh McPartland. Mr Hussey was south-eastern manager for Pickfords Removals; and Mr McPartland was road operations manager of British Steel.
