Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A SEPARATE eiperimental depart

ment, where more development work can be done than has been possible in the past, has been set up by Park Royal Vehicles, Ltd., said Sir W. Wavell Wakewid. M.P., chairman, at the company's annual general meeting on Monday. He added that long-term arrangements had been made to supply technical information to other bodybuilders manufacturing bodywork to the Park Royal design.

The policy of extending similar contractual arrangements to other countries was being actively pursued. The availability ovetseas of Park Royal designs and technique was of great indirect benefit to the export trade.

The chairman said that the recent change in Government policy had dislocated the rhythm of production, because vehicles built for the home market, upon which stress had previously been laid, could not non/laity be switched overseas.

40,000 VISITORS, BUT NO NEED FOR SERVICE

DESPUE support from hotel keepers, an application by Barton Transport, Ltd., to run a daily service from Nottingham to Lowestoft, between May and September, was refused by the East Midland Licens.ng Authority in Nottingham last week. It was held that no evidence of need had been given.

Four transport concerns, including British Railways, objected. The latter stated that a Saturday train would be • introduced this summer to run direct from Nottingham to Lowestoft.

. When Mr. L. W. A. White, for Barton Transport, Ltd., remarked: "It is seriously suggested that no one wants to go to Lowestoft," Mr. A. Beckett, Lowestoft publicity and entertainments officer, pointed out that some 40,000 visitors were drawn yearly from this district.

NO INCREASE IN HIRE-CAR RADIUS

EFFORTS were made, without .1---isuccess, in the House of Commons, last week, to persuade Mr. Gaitskell, Minister of Fuel and Power, to increase beyond 20 miles the radius of operation of hire cars. He also refused to increase the Maximum petrol allowance of 671 gallons per month for hire cars.

Answering Lieut.-Commander Clark Hutchison, who asked what steps the Minister of Fuel and Power intended to take to ensure that American tourist traffic in Edinburgh was not hindered by a 20-mile restriction, Mr. Gaitskell said the matter was under review.

TROLLEYBUS PLAN VETOED

THE Ministry of Transport has asked Glasgow Corporation to postpone, in order to save capital expenditure, the extension of the proposed experimental trolleybus service. The original scheme of a service between Polmadie and Provanmill is not affected.

Negotiatioas. on wage claims continued this week between the London Transport Executive and the Transport and General Workers' Union.
