Binks, the haulier, was returning empty, but the moon , was full and so, obviously, were the five revellers who staggered round a bend in the road waving their arms and shouting—" Shtop ! Roadsh flooded! " Binks shoved on his brakes and listened to their story of a sheet of water barring the way just round the corner. Finally he went to inspect it. "It's pretty deep," he said, "but I can get through and I'll take you all across at a bob a head —and he did it. "Good ole moon l " he soliloquized, as the sound of singing died away behind him. "Anyhow, I can't be accused of ratecutting. Five bob's not too bad pay for hauling a load of drunks across the 20-ft. shadow of a barn.
