Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

CHILTERN • Renault Trucks Chiltern is launching a commercial vehicle rental operation from its Dunstable site in September. The new business, which will trade as Chiltern Truck and Van Rental, will kick off with 12 Master vans, but more will be added to meet demand.

SC A N LINK

4. Grimsby's factory-owned Scania dealership, Scanlink, has acquired independent Scania service outlet G Trucks, of Wigtoft, Boston. The Lincolnshire business will change its name to Scanlink, and staff will be offered transfers to the new company. G Trucks is sited close to the A17, which links the Al to north Norfolk. "We are planning to invest further in the company's premises and facilities to enhance our service levels to operators in south Lincolnshire," says Scanlink managing director, Geoff Bell. "This will lead to our extending the company's opening hours and recruiting new personnel."

MERTRLTX

4. Mercedes dealer Mertrux has taken the unusual step of running a month-long TV advertising campaign on Central. The Derby-based operation declined to disclose how much it is paying for the 30-second slots, but says the expense is justified to publicise its takeover of the adjoining Nottingham territory.

AUCTION

4. The 7.5-tonne market is improving, says Vic Brailsford, group commercial manager for FIGVs and plant at auction giant ICA. "All box-bodied rigids up to 17 tonnes are doing well," he reports. Premium tractors are commanding higher prices and post-1995 curtainsider trailers are selling well, he adds. But there is little demand for ex-supermarket fleet specification tractors.
