Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

by Sharon Clancy • MAN has introduced Premier Program, an operator support scheme that will offer free labour and two-year warranties on service exchange units. Longer service intervals, a money-back guarantee on parts not delivered in 48-hours, and £50 payments to operators for late arrival at a roadside breakdown are also included.

MAN has gone on the offen sive to lure operators back to its dealer network. "The Premier Program is a long-term campaign to deliver tangible benefits to the end user," says customer support director Vince Welsh. "The MAN vehicle parc in the UK has doubled in five years to 24,000 trucks. We have to improve our aftersales service to ensure customers get the backup they deserve."

Specifying bigger engine oil sumps and synthetic oil can extend engine oil-drain periods to a maximum of 60,000km on L2000 and M2000 trucks and to 80,0001mi on F2000 tractor units. Synthetic oil in gearboxes more than quadruples the drain period.

On parts, MAN guarantees free delivery within 48 hours of more than 19,000 part lines for VOR (vehicle off road) parts, or it will refund up to £1,000 per part.

Free labour is offered on dealer-fit exchange engines and gearboxes, and the warranty is doubled to two years. Turbochargers and water pumps are among the extended range of exchange units.

From 1 September £50 compensation will be paid to operators waiting over an hour for a recovery truck to arrive. Calls must be received between 06:00 and 18:00hrs, the vehicle must be within a 30-mile radius of a MAN dealer, and outside the M25 motorway ring.
