Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Scania's range of low emission engines for the P93, P and R113 and R143 ranges are ready a year ahead of the Euro-1 legislation deadline.

Euro-1 legislation comes into effect on 1 October 1993, but all new models type-approved from 1 July 1992 must meet the emission requirements. Scania says it is committed to "realistic environmental advancement" above the level that is legally required by EC regulations.

P93 Euro-1 models are nominally coded 220, 250 and 280, in addition to existing 210 and 250 models. P/R113 models are designated 320 and 360 while the R143 is badged 420, 450 and 500.

From 1 October the GS771 10-speed splitter transmission, which is usually specified on the 93 for mixed urban and interurban delivery operations, will be dropped from the specification sheet.

Over the past two years Scania has revised its transmission line-up, adding the GR801, an eight-speed rangechange unit, to the five and 10-speed synchromesh range G770 and GR871 gearboxes specified for the P93.

With the P/R113 there is a choice of the GR900 and GRS900, nine-speed rangechange and 14-speed rangechange splitter boxes, as options to the GR871 10-speed rangechange unit: the R143 can be specified with either the nine or 14-speed boxes.
