were stealing to order when they took a Mercedes 814 From his firm's depot in the Holbrook area of the city.

The white, flatbed 7.5-tormer, liveried in the company's colours, was one of two vehicles parked at Hammond's Meadowbrook Industrial estate premises. It was taken between 20:00hrs and 06:30hrs on the night of 21-22 August. The other vehicle stolen was a white Ford Transit pickup.

The 814 was wedged between two other vehicles, both of which had valuable loads on board. "The thieves knew what they were after," says Hammond. "They took the Merc specifically — it was the hardest to steal, The Transit was just a bonus." The Mercedes is registered G447 NET. its chassis number is 67401425514560 with engine number 36690520989804. The TransIt, which was on hire, has the registration G920 JWB. Hammond is offering a 21,000 reward for information leading to the recovery of the Mercedes or conviction of the thieves.

hieves stole a two-axle Mercedes box van from William T Eden's depot on BiIton Way, Luton during the night of 18-19 August.

Its registration number is J840 KVV with chassis number 65202925544904 and engine number 35698420102282. The cab and trailer are predominantly white; the cab has red curtains with black lettering and the blue and white William T Eden logo. The logo also appears on the cab front and roof deflector.

212,000 Stanley taper-framed tipping trailer made specially for Yorkshire operator Clarrie lvin was stolen from the Tilcon Quarry at Scorton near Richmond between midnight on Friday 31 July and 05.00hrs on Saturday 1 August.

The aircraft-blue trailer, which had been uncoupled from its tractor unit, was loaded with over 25 tonnes of aggregate and, as ivin points out, the thieves would have needed a 38-tonne unit to move the trailer from the quarry.

The trailer's Ministry number is A107112 with chassis number 88023 and registration plate number H479 ODC. lvin, also based in Scorton, is offering a reward for information leading to the trailer's recovery.
