• Tolls will rise for the Dartford tunnels and bridge next week. Two-axle commercial vehicles will be charged £1.50 each way; multi-axle vehicles will be charged £2.30.
Escort fees for CVs longer than 27.4m have also increased, from £150 plus the toll to £157 plus the toll.
The last toll increase on the crossing was in September 1991 — in both cases the increase was said to be in line with inflation.
