Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A NEW experiment to gener-, ate more bus travel is to be undertaken by Midland Red on its Reddibus network in Redditch. It's a flat fare of 10p for adults and 5p for children after 9am weekdays and all day at weekends.

If the company is not to lose money it needs to double the' number of off-peak passengers. When the Reddibus network was started in March a 5p flat fare was charged as an introductory offer, but unfortunately this resulted in a drop of revenue.

"What we are hoping for this time is, at best, an increase in revenue or, at the worst, our off-peak revenue will remain stable. If this happens then the company will consider extending the flat fare scheme after the six-month Reddibus trial is completed in September," said a Midland Red spokesman.
