1OHN GILBERT, Minister for rransport, has announced :hat the routes of the 3romsgrove section of M42 3irmingham-N ottingham Mo.orway and the Warwick secion of M40 Oxford-Birminglam Motorway have been ixed.
The Motorway proposals were strongly opposed by a lumber of bodies and indiviluals on the grounds that the lew routes were not needed Ind that, if built, they would :ause very serious damage to ocal environment.
The inspector's general conlusion, however, is that both Motorways are essential parts Df the trunk road network.
