IN reply to a question asked recently 1 by the National Conference of Road Transport Clearing Houses, Shell-Mex and B.P., Ltd., stated that it was prepared to supply on credit commercial users entitled to call for supplies of fuel from its depots and agents, provided that such operators be agreed for credit terms at their home bases. It was pointed out, however, that although any operator of oil-engined vehicles could obtain supplies of oil fuel from such places, the company is able to supply petrol at them only to those operators of petrol vehicles who are listed for rebates. The price would, until further • notice, be lid. above the wholesale bulk price for petrol ruling on the day of delivery, and no rebates are allowable off this.

The Anglo-American Oil Co., Ltd., also states that credit facilities to commercial-vehicle operators are available at its bulk plant and agency pumps throughout the country. petrol also being supplied on terms similar to those given above.

ing kit for fuel pumps has been introduced by Wingard (MA), Ltd.. Chichester, Sussex. The diaphragm combines the slotted and T-type spindle. It fits AC-type pumps of the T and U pattern, whilst being suitable for Bedford, Ford. Chevrolet and most American vehicles. The kit is complete with springs, valves and washers, and reference number 127 should be quoted to local dealers.

ANTI-FREEZE WITH FREE INSURANCE

N entirely new idea has been developed by Baco Motor Products, Abbey Manufacturing Estate, Alperton, in coonecCon with Bacot anti-freeze.

This tirm were the originators of an anti-freeze alcohol-base mixture, which they introduced into this country in 1932. Now, after long negotiations with a well-known insurance house, they have effected a policy whereby any user of the Bacot product will be automatically insured, to a maximum of £35, against damage to his vehicle by frost, provided that he uses the Bacot in accordance with the instructions.

The anti-free, the price of which is 28s. 6d, per gallon, will be sold to the general public through motor factors who, in turn, will supply it to garages and service stations.
