TWELVE MONTHS since rising from the ashes to specialise in tipper trailers. Fruehauf has branched out into the rigid market. A lightweight bathtub body is being shown on a Daf CF4308x4 chassis-cab.
Criticism has been levelled at the bathtub design's poor aerodynamics, but this aluminium body with 4-6nun sidewalls does have significant weight advantages— the rigid body weighs in at 1,350kg. With 40% of the rigid market taken by aluminium bodies, Fruehauf's David lallent predicts that sales of the product could reach 250 units a year within 12 months.
