The depot will open from 06:00 hrs Monday to 17:00hrs Saturday. It offers a
2,300m218-bay drive-through workshop with a drive-through truck wash-and steam cleaning bay. The company has also moved its crash repair centre to the Wellingborough base, complete with a new Josam chassis and cab straightening jig.
Derek Jones sells a wide variety of new and used trucks from Wellingborough and provides parts and service back-up. All 85 headquarters staff have moved from Islip, and more are expected to be recruited soon.
"The demand for Scanias and the growth in our aftersales activities have developed to such a degree that we've simply outgrown our old site," says managing director, Derek Jones. "But we're not vacating our old premises—they're now occupied by our bodywork and signwriting and graphics operation."
