Failure to display the certificate could result in a fine of up to 24,000.
The road tax, which is aimed at countries that do not have their own road tolls, will shortly come into force in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. Drivers can pay by credit or fuel card and the rates relate to the number of axles. A one-day certificate for a three-axle truck costs 25 (11.53Drn).The Vignette is available from P&O's freight office at Dover Eastern Docks.
