MR. E. SMITH has succeeded MR. M. R. BATES as manager of the Tooting works of Express Motor and Body Works, Ltd.
MR. G. C. BONNER, MINST.T., has succeeded MR. F. B. LOWRY as chairman of the Argentine and River Plate section of the Institute of Transport.
MR. R. E. H. Baarrnwatrn, B.A., has been appointed assistant to the chief engineer of the East Kent Road Car Co., Ltd. He was formerly with the Birmingham and Midland Motor Omnibus Co., Ltd SIR ALFRED FAULKNER, Eastern Licensing Authority, has been elected chairman of the Beds. Cambs and Hunts section of the Institute of Transport. Vice-chairmen are MR. E. HOPKI1 and MR. C. S. A. WICKENS.
MR., J. C. J. PHILLIPS, M.B.E., who retired from the staff of the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders last year, was made a presentation recently at a dinner held in London by the accessory and component manufacturers' Welton. MR. W. SHELLEY, past section chairman, and MR. E. J. Scorr, M.C., chairman, paid tribute to his work. MR, A. a ROSE, F.C.W.A., has been appointed works director of the Triplex works at King's Norton.
MR, Tom PARISH, chief instructor of F. Perkins, Ltd., has returned from his tour of Canada in the Perkins mobile school.
MR. F. Y. FRAZER, deputy manager of Manchester Transport Department, has been appointed general manager at Lincoln. He will replace MR, G. Rock, who is retiring.
Cot. M ARK Wurrwiti, C.B.E., D.S.O., M.C., Ti)., has been appointed chairman of the Transport Users Consultative Committee for the southwestern area. Since 1945, he has been chairman of the South-western Regional Board for Industry.
MR. R. F. PAGE. has been elected chairman of the South Wales area of the Traders' Road Transport Association. The vice-chairman is Miss E. D. Rocuts, and the committee consists of MR. H. HAYWARD, MR. J. C. BUSSELL, MR. J. M. THOMAS, MR. A. C. MILES, MR. H. 0, FORD, MR. F. HARRIS, MR. J. WATSON, MR. H. BEARDS and MR. J. FARLE.
