CONSIGNMENTS of one ton and multiple drops of one ton and over are the subject of a new service inaugurated by National Carriers Ltd, Sheffield.
Collection in the Sheffield area and delivery within specified zones in one ton lots, or multiples of one ton, renders the traffic eligible to be charged at the Ton-up service quoted rates.
Thus, deliveries of one ton from Sheffield to destinations in Derby, Stoke, Manchester and Leeds, for instance, can be affected at a charge of £5 a ton with a reducing charge for multiple one-ton drops.
