The principal features are a cleansing station, comprising dressing-room, showers, undressing-room and open shed, with boiler house and pump house; two concrete washing beds, each capable of accommodating four lorries or two large buses; electrically driven pumping apparatus with water at 250 lb. per sq. in. carried underground to the washing platforms, where hose pipes with hand-controlled diffuser-jet guns attached 'and alternate water supply direct from the mains in ease of electricity failure are provided.
