Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Chief Executive, Christian Salvesen

What got you started in road transport?

Diesel in the veins. My family had a couple of trucks engaged on agricultural haulage. The transport industry was interesting enough; after a commercial trainee role in British Steel, which sent me to business school, I joined SPD Group. I've been in logistics ever since.

What do you love/hate about it? I love the fact that no two days are ever the same. There's always opportunity if you look for it.

What's your poison?

How long a list do you want?

How do you relax?

Horse racing, football and most sports as a spectator; gardening.

What was the last CD you bought?

The World's No 1 Opera Album Where was your last holiday? My house in Le Marche, Italy.

Football man's game or over-hyped nonsense?

Sadly nowadays. more nonsense and drama than honest entertainment. Too many overpaid actors and poor referees with no power.

Does your heart belong North or South?

North Do you have any unfulfilled ambitions?

Not really. I am, however, absolutely passionate about getting Salvesen back to where it belongs.

If you ruled the world, what's the first thing you'd change? Tony Blair and George Bush What makes you happiest in life? My family
