Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

II Diesel pump prices have finally risen in line with crude oil price hikes.

The oil companies have been under pressure from the Government to keep pump prices down following last month's fuel protests.

But last week several companies, including two supermarket chains, decided they could no longer hold out and increased prices at forecourts across the UK.

Supermarket chain J Sainsbury added bp to a litre of diesel, bringing the price to 83.9p. Tosco's diesel price also went up. but only to B1.9p/lit.

The move means pump prices have now followed earlier bunker price rises.
