Further to the issue of truck drivers in the UK finally standing up and fighting for our rights, there is one continuing gap in our campaign which I and others involved in "Socialist Truck Drivers" are starting a campaign to fill: how do we fight against allowing ourselves to be divided driver against driver. depending on whether we come from France, the UK, Spain etc?

As long as we are influenced by the threat that runs something like "if you can't do the job in such-and-such a time at such-and-such a rate, the Danes/Dutch/French etc will come in and do it", we will carry on being exploited and earning less and less in relation to wages earned by other workers in factories, shops and offices.

We will never improve our pay and working conditions until we have a level playing field right across Europe, and we are not going to get it for a long time as it is the big firms an' multinationals who call the t Those who profit from o labour have their means of communication and protect their mutual interests.
