Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

* Robsons Distribution is to axe 36 drivers jobs following the announcement it is to close its loss-making Durranhill, Carlisle operation. Drivers jobs are also believed to be at risk at parent company UCI Logistics' depots across the country, as part of restructuring and cost cutting by the group.

The company says it is planning further site closures and 150 job cuts. At least nine more drivers are believed to be going at its Elsborne depot, Warwicks. Last year Robsons lost more than 22m. Durranhill transport manager Bill Bateman says employees knew the firm wasn't doing terribly well but "haven't been given the chance to turn things around." ▪ Robsons Distribution and Robson's Haulage, also Carlisle based, are separate companies.
