• Nightfreight Distribution has a 2250,000 warehousing contract with Wirralbased flavouring manufacturer Quest, part of the Unilever group. Sister company Nightfreight GB will distribute Quest's products in the UK.
• The contract hire division of WS Hunt's Transport has a £250,000 three-year contract to supply vehicles, drivers and fuel to Monarch Chemicals. The Volvo FL6 curtainsiders will run from WS Hunt's Sittingbourne depot.
• Food wholesaler Booker Belmont has awarded two distribution contracts worth £80m to service four planned new distribution centres. The five-year contracts have gone to Christian Salvesen Distribution and Midlandsbased Lloyd Fraser Holdings.
• Harris Logistics has won a 26.5m storage and distribution contract with supermar ket group Safeway. The 10year food and drink contract will be handled by Harris's Welwyn Garden City distribution centre.
• Hammond Transport has signed a three-year contract with Cans Paper to distribute its carbonless papers and packaging materials.
• High-street retailer John Menzies has bought Heathrow-based Concorde Express Transport for £9.6m. Concorde specialises in ground handling and transport for the airline industry.
