AN indication that it may withdraw from the National Joint Industrial Council has been given by Manchester Corporation Transport. A resolution calling for greater voting powers for the larger undertakings brought before the annual meeting at Torquay in September did not meet with the support of the Council's working party. Manchester feels that the voting powers of undertakings should be related to their size, and consequently the subscriptions they pay.

Following an emergency meeting with Council representatives. Manchester has decided to discuss the matter further at the transport committee meeting next month. However, the working party has now agreed to bear the undertaking's request in mind.
