from Contract A to A licence by Crow's Transport Ltd., Gateshead, was granted by the Northern Licensing Authority, Mr. J. A. T. Hanlon, last week. BR and BRS objected.
Mr. John Crow. a director, said the firm's largest individual customer was Cigarette Components Ltd., of Jarrow, and filter tips were delivered to London and Glasgow and to the ports of Liverpool, London and Hull. The applicants were unable to backload because of licensing restrictions, said Mr. Crow, and he had approached Cigarette Components for a higher rate. "They suggested that we applied for an A licence and agreed to support this."
