Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

DAF HAS unveiled a number of improvements to the Paccar MX engine designed to strengthen its eficiency.

The 360hp, 410hp and 460hp variants of the 12.9-litre engine, available in the CF85 and XF105, now beneit from new pistons that have better thermal qualities and need less cooling. This means a smaller oil pump is enough for maximum eficiency, generating lower friction losses. The injection angles and engine management system have also been optimised. DAF claims to be the irst manufacturer to use thermal encapsulation for the turbocharger and the exhaust manifold unit. This improves air management by providing higher turbo eficiency and better combustion, which result in a claimed 3% fuel eficiency gain, depending on the application.

The engines will also cut off after ive minutes of idling. Other improvements include a lighter manual 12-speed gearbox and an AS-Tronic automated gearbox with shift patterns optimised for lower fuel consumption.
