Perhaps better known in the UK for its Harelaw-built refrigerated trailers, and more recently its dry freight range and bolted and galvanised chassis, Schmitz Cargobull's new pillarless curtainsider design is also attracting interest.
After a year's R&D with extensive MIRA testing, the first ones have now entered production.
Vital aspects include a new roof design with pre-stressed cant rails, extra cross-bracing and spring tensioning on the curtain roller attachments.
The first example appeared at the recent CV Show, and complete with the latest Schmitz Rotos suspension ,SAF axles and aluminium wheels it weighs in at 6,780kgs.
There was also the first UK showing of its SCS Mega trailer, which on Dunlop 455/40R 22.5in wide singles can be coupled at two different ride heights at 950mm and 1,150mm.
Schmitz also has a stand-alone telematics package to interest all trailer users.
