The business, whose parent company is AP Moeller-Maersk, now has a base in the Midlands that will aid drivers on long-haul journeys. And MD Brian Tattersall says he is not ruling out further purchases in Scotland.

He adds that no redundancies have been made.

The latest accounts filed at Companies House show Bowmur Haulage made a pre-tax profit of over Dm on a turnover of £16m for the year ending 30 Apri12004.

Tattersall says there are no immediate plans to acquire any other businesses, but he concludes: "In the future, perhaps... maybe Scotland in the years ahead. It would he a natural move."
